Treatment of recurrent intestinal obstruction

Recurrent intestinal obstruction is a condition in which bowel movements are partially or completely blocked, preventing the passage of food and fluids. This can cause severe pain, bloating, vomiting, and severe constipation. This obstruction is caused by surgical adhesions, intestinal twists, tumors, or intestinal strictures.

🔹 Treatment methods according to the case:

1️⃣ Laparoscopic treatment (for recurrent or complex obstructions)
Surgery is used when the obstruction is recurrent or caused by a cause that requires surgical repair, such as:

✔️ Removal of intestinal adhesions causing the obstruction.
✔️ Resection of affected portions of the intestine in the presence of a stricture or tumor.
✔️ Laparoscopic dilation if the obstruction is caused by a stricture without requiring intestinal removal.

🔹 Advantages of laparoscopic surgery:
✔️ Less pain and a faster recovery period compared to traditional surgery.
✔️ Reduced risk of adhesions recurring compared to open surgery.
✔️ Shorter hospital stay and faster return to normal life
