Early detection of breast tumors
Early detection is the best way to increase the chances of successful breast cancer treatment, as it helps detect tumors in their early stages before they spread.
🔹 Early Detection Methods:
1️⃣ Breast Self-Examination:
✔️ Performed once a month after the end of the menstrual cycle.
✔️ This includes noting any changes in size, shape, or skin texture, or the presence of lumps or abnormal discharge.
2️⃣ Clinical Examination:
✔️ Performed by a specialist physician to detect any abnormal changes.
✔️ Recommended every three years for women between the ages of 20 and 39, and annually after the age of 40.
3️⃣ Mammography:
✔️ The most important way to detect tumors in their early stages before symptoms appear.
✔️ It is recommended annually or every two years after the age of 40, or earlier if there is a family history of the disease.
🔹 The Importance of Early Detection:
✔️ Increases the cure rate to 90% or more in early cases.
✔️ Reduces the need for aggressive treatments such as chemotherapy.
✔️ Helps maintain breast health and avoid complete mastectomy.
🔹 When should you see a doctor immediately?
⚠️ A lump appears in the breast or underarm.
⚠️ Changes in the size or shape of the breast.
⚠️ Abnormal nipple discharge, especially if bloody.
⚠️ Changes in skin color or texture (redness, puckering, or sores).
Prevention and regular checkups are key to protection and maintaining health.
